Measures are taken to prevent and fight crime against Finland and its population and to prevent accidents, environmental damages and other disturbances.
Safety in daily life requires a well-functioning legal protection system. The police maintain public order and security and prevent crime in co-operation with the Customs and the Frontier Guard. Those found guilty of offences at the Courts of Justice are made legally responsible for their action.
Emergency and environmental authorities prevent accidents and environmental damages. Citizens are informed of occurred disruptive situations as soon as possible. The authorities co-operate on international level to improve border safety, manage migration and assist migrants to adapt to their new home country.
